Police believe they have identified the man whose remains were found in Kersal Wetlands earlier this month.

A torso was found in clear plastic by a passer-by at Kersal Dale Wetlands, near Prestwich, on April 4.

An extensive investigation has been ongoing since the alarming discovery was made.

Remains were found at two more locations, including in Walkden, over the weekend and on Monday morning police said there had been a further discovery in an alleyway close to railway lines off Worsley Road.

Officers have said they believe the man to be Stuart Everett, a 67-year-old from Salford.

A formal identification is yet to take place but the man's family are being supported.

DNA samples have been sent away for forensic analysis.

Michal Jaroslaw Polchowski, 68, and Marcin Majerkiewicz, 42, both of Worsley Road, Eccles, have been charged with murder.

They are due to appear at Manchester Crown Court this morning.
